MEET THE CDA CASTING AWARDS 

2020 JURY

 

CHRISTINE PAYNE 

Christine has been General Secretary of Equity since 2005. Christine is on the PPL Performer and main boards and is a member of the Board of Educational Recording Agency. She is a Vice-President and Treasurer of the Federation of International Artists, and she is Chair of the Creative Coalition Campaign.

EMILIA FOX 

Emilia is best known for her role as Dr Nikki Alexander in BBC’s Silent Witness. She started her career in acclaimed BBC adaptations such as Pride and Prejudice and ITV’s Rebecca. Emilia’s career includes working in theatre, film, and television. Recent TV credits include Sky’s Delicious with Dawn French, Strangers for ITV opposite John Simm and The Trial of Christine Keeler for the BBC.

JO ARSCOTT 

Jo is ‘Britain’s First Black Female Advertising Creative Director’ (The Design Council) and a creative founder of UK ‘Integration’.  She flourished in a male dominated industry by simply ‘being herself’ – “wearing gold ballgowns and pink feather boas to work daily”. Jo has created award-winning work … from “London Soho to Cairo – Atlanta to Fayetteville – Chicago to Dubai”. Her career in the industry has been built around truly understanding the personal and political challenges of the global consumer and the emotional and authentic brand connections needed to bridge those gaps.

JULIA FULLERTON-BATTEN 

Julia is a fine-art photographer renowned for her highly cinematic visual story-telling. Her large-scale projects are based around specific themes. Her fine-art career with a series of semi-autobiographically inspired projects. She turned her attention to projects handling social commentaries, including blindness, figure consciousness, feral children, and the sex industry. Her latest project is a series of images inspired by her fascination with the River Thames.

KIRK JONES 

Kirk is a writer and director best known for films such as Waking Ned, Nanny McPhee, Everybody’s Fine, What to Expect When You’re Expecting. He first made a name for himself directing award winning commercials for Saatchi and Saatchi, Mother, Bartle Bogle Hegarty etc including work for Heinz, Reebok, MacDonald’s, Vodaphone, Coca Cola, winning awards including Creative Circle, BTA, D&AD and Silver Lions at Cannes. Both Waking Ned and Nanny McPhee won awards for ensemble casting and Kirk has directed actors including Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Emma Thompson, Sam Rockwell, Cameron Diaz, Colin Firth.

STEVE DAVIES 

Steve is the Chief Executive of the Advertising Producers Association. He is focused on the APA’s main objective of creating the best possible business environment for its members. Steve is also a member of the board of the Advertising Association, Executive Vice President of the CFPE and one of the founders of the World Producers Summit in Cannes.
